In the UK, a hybrid of a speedboat and a submarine was assembled. Portal janes.com He reported that today, on September 9, the SubSea Craft company begins testing a prototype of the Victa boat.

The initial tests of the vessel are carried out near the company's headquarters in Portsmouth. Testing will begin with stability tests and by March next year will be completed with full-fledged tests of driving qualities in the underwater position.

Victa belongs to the class of DDU-type watercraft (diver delivery unit) and combines the advantages of a speedboat and an "underwater bus" for special forces. When on the surface, the VICTA can reach speeds of over 30 knots (55 km/h) and travel up to 250 miles (460 km). As a submarine, the VICTA accelerates to 8 knots (15 km / h) and is capable of covering 25 miles (46 km). The transition from a surface position to an underwater one takes about two minutes. In the basic version, the Victa will accommodate 8 people, including two crew members.
