The military of the CSTO countries conducted a training counter-terrorist operation, worked out the coordination and joint destruction of illegal armed groups that invaded from outside.
"Today, the final stage of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region of Collective Security of the CSTO" Rubezh-2021 "took place in Kyrgyzstan at the Edelweiss training ground, during which more than 30 introductory exercises were worked out," the press service of the CSTO Joint Staff reported.
More than a thousand people and 150 pieces of equipment took part in the exercises - tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, special Tiger vehicles, flamethrower units, artillery, including multiple launch rocket systems, aircraft - Su-30SM fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft, Mi-8 helicopters and Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the first stage, the units carried out preparations for a joint military operation in mountainous terrain. Further, at the second stage of the exercise, the militant detachments were detected and blocked.
The situation required the evacuation of civilians from possible areas of hostilities. The mobile rescue squad of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations and the republican civil protection services coped with this task. A group of border guards was also withdrawn from under the fire of bandits.
The attack of the "flock"of unmanned aerial vehicles of the conditional enemy was repelled by the anti-aircraft missile department with portable anti-aircraft complexes "Strela-2M" and the anti-aircraft calculation ZU-23-2 of the Kyrgyz military.
At the final stage, the blocking of the retreating groups of the surviving bandits was worked out with the help of a tactical landing. The paratroopers together with the encirclement groups conducted a "sweep" of settlements. After squeezing out the enemy, the Grad multiple launch rocket system was activated. The remnants of the militants were hit from the air by a link of the Su-30SM of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
"The military attaches of Turkey, the United States, Kazakhstan, Russia, India, Great Britain, Germany, France, Japan, as well as the heads of the mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the OSCE program Office in Bishkek also observed the conduct of this joint counter - terrorism operation at the final stage of the exercise," said Vladislav Shchegrikovich, press secretary of the CSTO Joint Staff.
The head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, at the end of the final stage of the exercise, noted that one of the main goals of the exercise was to improve the practical skills of officials of the military control bodies of the CSTO member states.
