TSAMTO, September 8. The Swedish company Saab has announced that it will demonstrate for the first time outside Sweden a new generation of high-speed attack boats CB90 (Combat Boat 90) at the DSEi exhibition in London, which will be held from September 14 to 17.
As stated, the CB90 Next Generation (CB90 NG) will differ from the basic version of the CB90 with new features and functions. The CB90, designed for the rapid transportation of Marines and other forces, is known for being able to easily land on the coast and evacuate from it, whether it is a beach or an inconvenient rocky shore.
In addition to these capabilities, the CB90 NG, depending on the task, can also perform various functions for conducting reconnaissance and defeating the enemy. The CB90 NG is equipped with a new combat control system, sensors for surveillance, and ballistic protection. It is characterized by higher stealth, maneuverability and speed. It is noted that the CB90 NG has become "a more powerful means for projecting power from the sea".
As stated, the CB90 NG is not an ordinary modernization of the model, but the result of a reassessment of 30 years of experience of users from around the world, combined with constant technical development. As a result, CB90 NG is a new platform ready to take on many functions.
The CB90 Next Generation will be demonstrated as part of the twice-daily demonstrations held at DSEi.
The CB90 NG sample, which will be shown at the DSEi exhibition, was recently delivered to the Swedish Navy under the designation Docksta CB 90HSM. It demonstrates the possibility of how the CB90 Next Generation can be adapted to meet customer requirements.
