The Ukrainian state enterprise "Zorya" - "Mashproekt" has signed a contract with the Indian company Goa Shipyard for the supply of two M7N2 engines, Ukroboronprom reports .
It is planned to equip multi-purpose ships of project 11356 of the Talwar type, which are designed by Russia, but are being built by India, with gas turbine installations. According to the agreement, the first unit should be ready in December 2022, the second — in July 2023. "The M7N2 units have an upgraded microprocessor control system, a power of 58 thousand horsepower and provide the opportunity to develop a speed of 30 knots," the company said in a statement.
Ukroboronprom recalls that over the past two weeks, Zorya-Mashproekt has signed contracts with Indian customers totaling about $ 100 million.
In August 2017, the vice-president of the United Shipbuilding Corporation for military Shipbuilding, Igor Ponomarev, said that two frigates of project 11356, previously ordered by the Russian Defense Ministry, will be sold to the Indian Navy.
