TSAMTO, September 6. According to the Czech Ministry of Defense, all three bidders for the supply of 210 tracked armored combat vehicles to the country's Armed Forces submitted proposals by the deadline set by the Ministry of Defense.
The deadline for submitting proposals expired on September 1 at 14: 30 Central European time. Potential suppliers include BAE Systems (Sweden) with BBM CV90, General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS, Spain) with ASCOD and Rheinmetall Landsysteme (Germany) with Links.
The completeness of the proposals and their content will now be evaluated in detail by the tender commission, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. As stated, the volume of information received is estimated at thousands of pages, so the evaluation process will take several weeks. Initially, it is planned to determine whether the suppliers ' proposals meet the requirements established by the Ministry of Defense. Then the proposals that meet the requirements of the Czech Ministry of Defense will be studied, after which the evaluation commission will make recommendations on choosing the winner of the competition.
The final decision, based on the results of consideration of the proposal of the Ministry of Defense, will be made by the Government of the Czech Republic.
As reported by TSAMTO, as part of the procedure carried out since the beginning of 2019, the Czech Ministry of Defense plans to conclude a contract worth about 50 billion rubles. kronor ($2.37 billion) for the supply of 210 armored combat vehicles in seven versions. The new equipment will replace the outdated tracked BMP-1/2 in service.
In August 2019, the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic sent requests for submitting preliminary proposals for the supply of BBM to four companies. Three applicants submitted answers to the request: BAE Systems Hagglunds, General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) and Rheinmetall. The fourth participant, the PSM consortium (Projekt System and Management GmbH) with the Puma BMP, decided not to submit a proposal.
In May 2021, after testing the applicants ' cars on the territory of the Czech Republic, requests for the submission of final proposals were sent to all three companies.
It is assumed that most of the equipment will be made in the version of the infantry fighting vehicle (the calculation of 11 people, a tower with a 30-mm gun and an ATGM, a high level of armor protection). In addition, control vehicles, reconnaissance vehicles, artillery observer vehicles, engineering vehicles, BRAM and ambulances will be delivered.
The delivery of armored vehicles is planned for 2023-2027. Payments should be made in tranches during 2022-2028, which will reduce the burden on the budget of the Ministry of Defense.
