More than four thousand military motorized rifle and tank regiments of the South of Russia have started exercises in the Rostov region.
According to Interfax, with reference to the press service of the Southern Military District, new tactical actions are being worked out at the Kadamovsky training ground. 300 armored vehicles are also involved in the exercises: T-72B3 tanks and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles.
The exercises will assess the ability of military personnel and battalion commanders to use the capabilities of army aviation, including fire support equipment. The exercises will be completed on September 12.
This week, exercises are also being held in Dagestan, the Chechen Republic, the Volgograd Region and the Crimea. They involve six thousand military personnel, as well as aircraft, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery guns and multiple rocket launchers - about 800 pieces of equipment in total.
