Tests of the first Russian armored car K-4386 ZA-SpN for special forces will begin in 2022, Igor Zarakhovich, chief designer of the Remdiesel development company, said on September 6.
"The test program of the K-4386 ZA-SpN armored car will begin in 2022," TASS quoted him as saying.
The novelty was developed on the basis of the "Typhoon-airborne". K-4386 ZA-SpN is the first Russian armored car of the MRAP class (mine-resistant ambush-protected-an armored car with increased mine protection).
For the first time, the new armored car was presented at the Army-2021 forum. Its engine power is 350 hp, the maximum speed is 100 km / h. The weight of the car is 12 tons, and its load capacity is two tons.
Remdiesel produces equipment of the Russian army, mainly armored vehicles of the Typhoon line of different classes and different wheel formulas. On average, the plant produces about 300 armored vehicles a year, in 2020 the company produced 250 vehicles for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.
On July 5, Zarakhovich said that the Russian Typhoon-AIRBORNE amphibious armored vehicle with an upgraded combat module with a 30-mm cannon, which is being prepared for delivery to the Russian army, will be a "big surprise"for a potential enemy.
