As reported by Polish online "MILMAG", opening on September 7, 2021, in the Polish town of Kielce 29th defence industry exhibition MSPO-2021 Polish company SA, Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW, is part of the state Association of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa SA, PGZ) first presented a prototype of his armored car class MRAP with the wheel formula 4x4.
A prototype of the MRAP class armored vehicle with a 4x4 wheel formula developed by the Polish company Huta Stalowa Wola SA (HSW). The sample is equipped with a remotely controlled ZSMU A5 machine gun combat module developed by the Polish company Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów (c) HSW / milmag.pl
The vehicle is designed to promote the Polish armed forces in a large number of variants - in particular, as part of a competition for a promising armored vehicle for the Polish special operations forces under the Pegaz program, as well as for artillery units as a command and reconnaissance vehicle.
The machine was developed jointly with the Czech company Tatra Export (a subsidiary of the company Tatra Trucks, which is part of the Czech-Slovak private military-industrial association Czechoslovak Group - CSG) and actually uses the Tatra 815-7 (4x4) chassis produced by Tatra Trucks. HSW was responsible for the armored hull. In general, as you can understand, the car is close to the T815 Patriot MATMMV machine demonstrated by the Excalibur Army/Czechoslovak Group for several years. It is assumed that the car will be manufactured by HSW in Poland with assembly at the former Autosan bus factory in Sanok, which HSW has co-owned since 2016 together with the Polish company PIT-Radwar.
The new HSW vehicle in the presented prototype of the basic configuration has a full combat weight of 13 tons with the possibility of increasing it to 18 tons due to increased protection. The capacity is eight people, including two crew members. The four-door armored hull provides the declared level of ballistic protection STANAG 4569 Level 2-4 and the level of mine protection STANAG 4569 Level 2a / 2b-3a / 3b (as you can understand, the lower levels are provided in the presented basic prototype).
The car can optionally be equipped with a Tatra diesel engine (300 kW) or Cummins (270 kW), and uses an Allison 4500SP automatic six-speed transmission. The maximum speed on the highway is 110 km / h, the power reserve on the highway is up to 700 km. The machine has an adjustable ground clearance from 260 to 430 mm.
The vehicle can be equipped with various weapons, the sample presented at MSPO-2021 is equipped with a remotely controlled ZSMU A5 machine gun combat module developed by the Polish company Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów.
