The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, spoke about the operational life of the Russian upgraded Soyuz-2 rocket. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti .
According to the head of the state corporation, the launch vehicle will be operated for about 10 more years, then a new reusable rocket will replace it.
"I think that the Soyuz-2 will actually fly in the latest upgraded version with the Russian control system for another 9-10 years. It will be replaced by a returnable reusable carrier, " Rogozin said.
Earlier, the head of Roscosmos invited Putin can visit any launch from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur Region. "I invite you to any launch," Rogozin said during a demonstration to the head of state of the layout of the Soyuz launch complex at the cosmodrome.
