The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, spoke about the operational life of the Russian upgraded Soyuz-2 rocket. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti .
According to the head of the state corporation, the launch vehicle will be operated for about 10 more years, then a new reusable rocket will replace it.
"I think that the Soyuz-2 will actually fly in the latest upgraded version with the Russian control system for another 9-10 years. It will be replaced by a returnable reusable carrier, " Rogozin said.
Earlier, the head of Roscosmos invited Putin can visit any launch from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur Region. "I invite you to any launch," Rogozin said during a demonstration to the head of state of the layout of the Soyuz launch complex at the cosmodrome. Putin asked if everything works here, the head of Roscosmos answered this question in the affirmative.
The President arrived in the Amur Region on the evening of Friday, September 3 (on the night of Saturday, September 4, local time) after participating in the Eastern Economic Forum in the Primorsky Territory.
