Pepper bloomed for the first time on board the International Space Station (ISS). This was announced on Friday, September 3, by American astronaut Megan MacArthur.
"News about space [chili peppers] : they are blooming! I smile. We expect to see the formation of small fruits in a week, " she wrote on Twitter, adding a photo of a flowering plant to the publication.
They started growing peppers in the American greenhouse on the ISS in July.
In April, analysts of the SberMarket service found out that a weekly cosmonaut's diet will cost a Russian 5283 rubles.
At the same time, experts noted that the food of astronauts often contains a lot of spicy spices, which it is better not to use every day. In zero gravity, people almost lose their sense of taste and smell, so spices and seasonings are needed in order to feel food better, experts said.
