VLADIVOSTOK, September 3. /TASS/. Foreign investors from countries that have partnership relations with Russia can be attracted to the project of creating a Russian single-engine fighter Checkmate. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in an interview with RBC TV channel within the framework of the WEF.
"These will be Russian investments from both the budget and extra-budgetary sources. At the same time, we do not exclude attracting foreign partners, if there are such interesting proposals, investors from those countries with which we have partnership relations," he said.
Checkmate was first presented in July at the MAKS-2021 International Air Show.
The fighter is made using stealth technologies, equipped with an internal fuselage compartment for air - to - air and air-to-surface aircraft weapons. The payload mass will exceed seven tons. The fighter will be able to simultaneously hit up to six targets. It is assumed that Checkmate will take to the air in 2023, from 2026 Rostec plans to start its mass production.
