Moscow. August 31. INTERFAX - The annual maintenance of the launch complex equipment has been completed at the Vostochny Cosmodrome, where Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive on Saturday, the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure Facilities (CENKI) reported.
"In accordance with the comprehensive schedule of the TRP, 52 systems were checked and serviced, including a guarantee power supply system, compressed gas production and storage systems, a transport and installation unit and a mobile service tower," the CENKI said.
They noted that the main task of annual maintenance is to maintain the systems in readiness for their intended use.
"Conducting TRP on launch and transport equipment systems is very important - it is on the serviceability of these systems that the work with the product depends: the installation and verticalization of a space rocket," the CENKI said.
Earlier, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said that Putin will visit the Vostochny cosmodrome on Saturday.
"Early in the morning of the fourth day (September 4), the president will go to Blagoveshchensk. And, probably, from 9 am (local time) onwards, he will be at the Vostochny cosmodrome, " Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
The last time Putin came to Vostochny was on September 6, 2019. At the meeting, which he held with builders and the leadership of the space field, they discussed the creation of a launch table for Angara rockets and the progress of work on the creation of a new Soyuz-5 rocket.
The construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome is carried out in three stages. A launch pad for Soyuz rockets has already been built. Currently, facilities of the second stage are being built on Vostochny, designed to launch missiles of the Angara family. The first launch of the Angara from the cosmodrome is scheduled for 2023, in the same year a rocket with a promising manned ship "Eagle"is to be launched from it.
On March 6, the state corporation Roscosmos told Interfax that a decision on the configuration of the launch tables of the third stage of the cosmodrome has not yet been made.
On February 18, the Supervisory Board of Roscosmos approved Ruslan Mukhamedzhanov as the general director of TsENKI instead of Andrey Okhlopkov, who had previously received a reprimand from the head of the state corporation Dmitry Rogozin.
In October 2020, following the results of a production meeting at the Vostochny cosmodrome, Okhlopkov and the chief engineer of the CENKI, Vladimir Zhukov, were reprimanded. In addition, following the meeting, the head of the cosmodrome directorate, Yevgeny Rogoza, was dismissed.
On November 25, Zhuk was arrested on suspicion of abuse during the construction of the cosmodrome. In October, it became known about the arrest of the director of the Vostochny Space Center, Roman Bobkov, for two months. He became a person involved in a criminal case, in which the chief inspector of the 119th department of the GASN of the Ministry of Defense, Dmitry Fomintsev, is also being held. Both are accused of fraud with the commissioning of three water intake facilities at the Vostochny cosmodrome.
