"The launch of the Soyuz-2.1 b carrier rocket with 34 OneWeb satellites is scheduled for September 14 from site No. 31 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome," the message published on the state corporation's website said on Monday.
It is noted that the preparation of the Vostok launch complex for the upcoming launch of spacecraft of the OneWeb satellite company has already begun at the Baikonur cosmodrome. "On the morning of August 30, 2021, a joint calculation of specialists of the Yuzhny Space Center (a branch of the Center for the Operation of Ground - based Space Infrastructure Facilities, part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) was built, "the message said.
Participants in the preparation and launch of a space rocket were assigned tasks according to the work schedule. Specialists will prepare the units and systems of the launch complex within the next 12 days, Roscosmos added.
The previous launch of the Soyuz-2.1 b carrier rocket with OneWeb satellites was carried out on August 22.
In July, the British company announced that it plans to complete the deployment of a satellite constellation to provide global coverage by June 2022. According to OneWeb, the grouping in low Earth orbit will consist of 648 satellites.
