Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov previously noted that the state of the station leaves much to be desired
MOSCOW, August 30. /TASS/. The security situation of the International Space Station (ISS) is under control. This was reported to TASS on Monday by the head of the press service of Roscosmos, Vladimir Ustimenko.
"The situation with the safety and operability of the ISS is under control," Ustimenko said.
In April, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the state of the ISS leaves much to be desired, so Russia can focus on creating its own orbital station. The Energia Rocket and Space Corporation is tasked with ensuring the readiness of the first base module for the new Russian orbital station in 2025.
At the end of July, the Scientific and Technical Council of Roscosmos recommended that in order to eliminate the risks caused by the technical condition of the Russian segment of the ISS and the planned completion of its operation by 2028, a decision should be made to start technical study of the design appearance of the new ROSS orbital station.
