Military-technical cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia may be a blow to the United States, writes the Polish edition of Defence24.
Thus, the publication commented on the signing of an agreement on military cooperation by Moscow and Riyadh during the international forum "Army-2021".
The publication notes that due to Western sanctions, military-technical cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia has decreased in recent years, but the situation with the restriction by the White House of Washington's supply of some American ammunition to Riyadh, for example, aircraft bombs, and the withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan may change the current situation.
"From the point of view of Riyadh, the Russians are in many ways a more attractive partner than the Americans. They are primarily interested in financial resources and do not impose political restrictions related to human rights violations," the publication says.
According to the publication, "the capabilities of the Russian industry are lower than those of the American one, which means lower production volumes." "At least until Moscow is able to expand this industry at the expense of Saudi money. The technical level of Russian equipment may also be a more serious problem, " the publication says.
