The range, speed and accuracy of Russian hypersonic weapons can be increased. This was told by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu.
"We have in the future, and very soon, an increase in the range of hypersonic weapons. This is an increase in speeds, an increase in accuracy and, of course, the adaptation of carriers to new types of weapons," he said in an interview for the YouTube channel "Solovyov Live", published on August 29.
The head of the defense Department noted that one of the most important issues at the moment is the adaptation of carriers to new types of weapons.
"We can't make a new plane and ship for every rocket. We need to make sure that we have one launcher for everyone. Work on this is underway, and we already have something to protect the country with, " Shoigu added.
He also stated that a number of modern models of military equipment are already in service with the Russian troops.
"We have Daggers on combat duty, Avangard and Peresvet are also on combat duty. There is a big serious prospect ahead, " the head of the Russian Defense Ministry summed up.
On the eve of Shoigu said that the combat capability of the army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has doubled. According to him, this was achieved thanks to sudden inspections, army games and new weapons.
On August 24, it was reported that the Ministry of Defense signed the first contract for the Shturm robotic complex. The agreement was signed during the international military-technical forum "Army-2021".
At the end of June, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Sarmat ICBM, the Zircon hypersonic missile and the new S-500 air defense system will soon be on combat duty. According to him, hypersonic weapons — Avangard and Dagger complexes-have already been put on combat duty.
