Dubai. August 28. INTERFAX-Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that the United States "acted shamelessly" in the situation with the nuclear negotiations, and that the current administration of President Joe Biden in this matter is no different from the previous one under Donald Trump.

"The nuclear issue should not affect diplomacy. In the nuclear issue, the United States acted extremely shamelessly. They withdrew from the JCPOA, but they spoke as if Iran had withdrawn from it. They ridiculed the negotiations. The Europeans also acted like the United States, " the Ayatollah said in a statement posted on Twitter.

"The current US government is no different from the previous one. They demand the same thing that was demanded (ex-US President Donald - "IF") Trump. Behind the scenes of US foreign policy, there is a predatory wolf that sometimes turns into a cunning fox. The current situation in Afghanistan is an example of this, " he added.

US President Biden said yesterday that the US will resort to other methods of solving the Iranian nuclear problem if diplomacy does not work. He stressed that the United States is committed to ensuring that Iran "never gets a nuclear weapon."

Earlier, it became known about the yet-to-be-released report of the IAEA, according to which Iran accelerated the production of highly enriched uranium at the Natanz enrichment plant. According to the IAEA, Iran used two cascades of enrichment centrifuges in this process, and not one, as before.

Western media remind that Iran has started enriching uranium to 60% since mid-April.

The United States during Trump's presidency withdrew from the JCPOA and restored sanctions against Tehran. In response, Iran stopped fulfilling the terms of the agreement.

From April to June of this year, Iran and a number of world powers held six rounds of negotiations in Vienna with the aim of restoring the JCPOA. Currently, the negotiations are put on pause: Iranian officials have stated that Tehran will be ready to continue negotiations after the inauguration of the new Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi in early August and the formation of a new government.
