New targets will be added to the Russian anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes (ZRPK) "Pantsir-M", [...] Izvestia reports, citing sources in the Russian Defense Ministry.
The newspaper writes that now the ZRPC data will be able to " intercept targets flying at an altitude of no more than 1-2 meters above the water." The publication notes that during recent tests, the marine "Pantsir-M" destroyed several anti-tank missiles "Kornet", which imitated enemy weapons. "All the targets were intercepted at a distance of several kilometers from the launch point, when they were flying at an altitude of 1 to 3 meters above the water," the newspaper writes.
Dmitry Kornev, editor-in-chief of the Militaryrussia Internet project, assures that the flight characteristics of the anti-tank "Cornet" at low altitude are almost identical to those of the American Harpoon. The expert is sure that this circumstance allows us to allow the use of marine "Pantsir-M" against these American anti-ship missiles.
In October 2020, the Izvestia newspaper, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense and the military-industrial complex, wrote that Russia had successfully tested the latest anti-aircraft missile and artillery system (ZRAK) "Pantsir-M".
