Chisinau. August 27. INTERFAX. - President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky spoke in favor of the presence of the NATO bloc in the Black Sea.
"Ukraine consistently supports the presence of NATO in the Black Sea," he said at a briefing in Chisinau after a quadripartite meeting with the presidents of Moldova, Poland and Romania.
"We stand for strengthening peace and security in the region. Unfortunately, military threats are growing around Ukraine. Now Belarus is also being used as a platform for such threats. Russian armed formations in Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia pose threats to peace and stability in the region. The occupation of Crimea is also a security threat, an obstacle to the development of cooperation and trade in the region," Zelensky said.
