This was reported to TASS by the deputy general designer of the enterprise Mikhail Kettuev.
"The underwater installation provides a detection range of a dolphin or a swimmer at a distance of up to 500 meters. Larger objects that can move are detected at a distance of up to a thousand meters. Maybe some supernova submarines are very small in size, because we have submarines in the world that carry two or three specialists. These are detected at a distance of up to a thousand meters, " Kettuev said.
"Mayak-2014" is part of the complex of technical means for the protection of marine and coastal objects "Fort", which can be controlled from a single automated workplace and is designed for monitoring the surface and underwater parts of the water area.
"The Mayak station is a remote sonar device. Such a device can be lowered to the bottom, and even no anchor is needed. The station has a negative buoyancy. It is located at a depth of two to 50 meters, and, depending on the need, has four antennas. If four antenna devices are placed, it provides a circular view, " Kettuev said. According to him, the information coming through the installation does not require constant monitoring. "If we find that some saboteur is moving in space, the information processing system will give a signal to the operator about the detection of the object," he said.
The station can operate at a distance of up to 10 km from the information processing device. "We offer a complex of technical means of protecting marine and coastal objects, which can be placed in a container or moved <...>. It consists of two coastal radar stations - one of the centimeter range, the other of the millimeter range and an optical television channel. These channels allow you to control the surface situation. So far, this is not at the exhibition, but we think that next year, maybe we will already create an exhibition sample, or maybe a stand about the work of the "Fort" - a complex of technical means for protecting marine and coastal objects, " he said.
The international military-technical Forum "Army-2021" is being held at the Patriot exhibition Center near Moscow from August 22 to 28.
