The new Kalashnikov assault rifle will be able to shoot cartridges of three calibers. Yesterday, on August 25, the press service of the concern published a promo video of a carbine model with replaceable barrels.
"AKV-521 gives the user the opportunity to have replaceable barrels of 415 or 341 mm for three different cartridges: 5.45×39, 7.62×39 and .223REM. The carbine has already passed all the internal factory tests, now it is being prepared for its mass production",- it is reported in the description of the video.

The Kalashnikov indicates that the carbine structurally consists of two parts: in a U-shaped receiver, the barrel with a gas system and a locking unit is combined with the bolt guides and a 1913-MIL-STD/Picatinny standard bar; in the trigger box there are USM, the magazine receiver, the butt and the pistol grip. This solution makes the "trunk-optics" bundle stable when disassembling the carbine, which has a positive effect on the accuracy of the shooting system during operation.
Earlier, a similar solution was presented by the Serbian company Zastava Arms.
