Radar stations of the Russian Voronezh-type missile attack warning system are being upgraded to the level of the newest Yakhroma station. This radar station is being built in the Crimea.
This was announced at the International Military-technical Forum "Army-2021" by the general director of the concern "RTI systems" Yuri Anoshko, RIA Novosti writes. He noted that all the new achievements that are used in the construction of Yakhroma will be applied during the modernization.
General Director Yuri Anoshko noted that the Yakhroma radar stations will have greater noise immunity and bandwidth. For their construction, the technology of an automated digital twin system is used. It allows you to track the status of the radar. And Yakhroma will also need a combat crew in smaller numbers than, for example, Voronezh.
"RG" has already written that now ten long-range radars are working as part of the ground echelon of radar stations of the Russian warning system, including three Soviet radars: the modernized station "Dnepr" on the Kola Peninsula, "Daryal" in Komi and "Volga" in Belarus. The development strategy of the system provides for the creation of a continuous dual-band radar field along the borders of the country at the expense of new stations of the Voronezh type. By 2030, it is planned to modernize a number of existing radars and build new ones in the Leningrad Region and the Far East.
