Only a nuclear space tug can become a transport space system for the movement of large scientific stations, the general director of the corporation noted
MOSCOW, August 26. /TASS/. The testing of a drip refrigerator-emitter for the Zeus nuclear tug on board the International Space Station (ISS) is an important topic for Roscosmos, in which there may be breakthrough results. This opinion was expressed by the Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.
"The most important topic for us is where we expect breakthrough results. Only a nuclear space tug can become a transport space system for the movement of large scientific stations or habitable orbital modules in the Solar System and beyond, " the head of Roscosmos wrote in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, Vladimir Koshlakov, General Director of the M. V. Keldysh Research Center (part of Roscosmos), told TASS about plans to test a drip refrigerator-emitter for the Zeus nuclear tug on board the ISS in 2024-2025. According to him, the project documentation has already been developed, now the Center is named after him. Keldysha starts manufacturing models and scientific equipment for conducting an experiment in the multi-purpose laboratory module "Science".
