NEW YORK, August 25. /TASS/. The United States expects to continue cooperation with Russia on the International Space Station at least until 2030. This was stated by the head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Bill Nelson, speaking at the 36th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs. His speech was broadcast by the organizers of the conference.
"We expect that our Russian partners will continue to work together and we expect that the project will be extended at least until 2030," he said. "We hope to continue cooperation with Russia in the space sphere."
In April, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the state of the ISS leaves much to be desired, so Russia can focus on creating its own orbital station. The rocket and space corporation Energia is tasked with ensuring the readiness of the first module for the new Russian orbital station in 2025, it will be a scientific and energy module, which was previously supposed to be launched to the ISS in 2024.
