Tests of the meter that helps the aircraft fly the correct course are planned to be completed in 2023
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 25. /TASS/. A prototype of a domestic Doppler speed and drift angle meter for aircraft and drones was presented at the Army-2021 forum. Tests of the product that helps the aircraft fly the correct course are planned to be completed in 2023, the press service of the Rostec state Corporation Roselectronics holding told reporters on Wednesday.
As specified in the holding, the D-055MC Doppler meter, developed by the Rybinsk Instrument-Making Plant (part of Roselektronika as part of the Vega concern), allows measuring the speed of an aircraft in the range from 180 to 4,500 km/h at an altitude of up to 20,000 m. The weight of the device does not exceed 8 kg.
"The peculiarity of the new meter is that with the help of communication units developed by the plant, it will be able to dock with navigation complexes of various types of aircraft. Now the product is at the testing stage, which we plan to complete in 2023, " the press service quotes the words of the plant's general director Andrey Komogortsev.
Roselectronics explained that as part of the navigation systems, the device allows the aircraft to automatically keep its course, navigate in difficult weather conditions, in an environment of radio-electronic interference and the absence of satellite communications.
