The new armored car for special forces K-4386-ZA-SpN, designed for special purpose units, is based on the already well-known landing armored car "Typhoon-airborne", but has a number of differences. Marat Rizvanov, a representative of the developer company Remdiesel JSC, told about this in an interview with RG.
The protected special purpose vehicle K-4386 is a car with a load-bearing body and a two-row cabin designed for four people. It is equipped with a turbocharged diesel engine with a power of 350 hp, and a manual transmission with a two-speed "distributor". A special V-shaped bottom provides good mine protection.
The car has wheels that can withstand hits from small arms. Even in the event of a broken wheel, the car can continue to move at a speed of up to 50 km / h.
The car is prepared for participation in special operations. It is armed with a protected turret with a 12.7 mm Kord machine gun and a Kornet anti-tank missile system. The ATGM shots are placed in the luggage compartment, and a 120-mm mortar is fixed in the stern.
The novelty differs from the basic landing "Typhoon-airborne" by a higher class of protection, reinforced suspension and body, said Marat Rizvanov. According to the representative of the developer, it is in the combination of an increased level of protection with good cross-country ability and high combat power that the uniqueness of the new machine lies.
