The new multi-purpose armored floating vehicle (MBPM) rolled off the assembly line just ten days before the start of the Army-2021 forum.
Nevertheless, it has already been tested both afloat and during mileage tests, Sergey Suvorov, head of the media and advertising department of the Military-Industrial Company, said in an interview with RG.
MBPM is an initiative development of the company. It is intended for use as a combat reconnaissance vehicle.
"Since the Soviet times, no one has been engaged in such a class of cars in our country. It floats, is well protected. The frontal projection protects against a 12.7 mm armor-piercing bullet. Mine protection was also increased, while the car has good maneuverability, " said Sergey Suvorov.
At the moment, the MBPM is equipped with a remotely controlled combat module "Arbalet-DM" with a machine gun. According to Suvorov, there are also places in the car for installing special equipment, including reconnaissance equipment.
