Kubinka (Moscow region). August 24. INTERFAX-The import-substituted UAV "Outpost-R", previously produced under an Israeli license, has received shock functions, it follows from the materials for the forum "Army-2021".
"The unmanned aerial vehicle is designed to destroy single stationary, mobile and moving ground objects, conduct aerial and optoelectronic reconnaissance," says the description of the Forpost-R sample displayed at the Army-2021 forum.
The exhibit is equipped with two small-sized missiles placed on an external suspension under the wing consoles of the device.
The description of the characteristics of the" Outpost-R " indicates that with a maximum take-off weight of 500 kg, it is capable of carrying aircraft weapons with a total weight of up to 100 kg.
The cruising speed of the drone is 120-180 km/h, the maximum flight duration is at least 10 hours, the practical altitude is almost 6 thousand meters.
Previously, the Outpost drones, assembled from foreign components, which were serially supplied to the Russian army, were intended exclusively for reconnaissance. By 2018, the military had about 100 such drones.
On the eve of the strike "Outpost-R"was examined by Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Abdullah II of Jordan during a tour of the exhibition of the Army-2021 forum.
Later, opening negotiations with the Jordanian monarch, Putin noted that they were shown only " some types of weapons that we use in our army, and we supply for export."
Judging by the information on the website of Rosoboronexport (the only special exporter of Russian military equipment), at the moment, the Russian Federation offers only three drones to foreign countries: two medium-and short - range reconnaissance drones-Orlan-10E and Tachyon, as well as the only UAV that combines reconnaissance and strike functions - Orion-E, capable of carrying up to 200 kg of weapons with a total take-off weight of more than 1 ton.
The tactical UAV "Outpost" was produced in Russia at the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) since 2010 as a licensed copy of the Israeli Searcher MkII. However, cooperation with Israel in the field of unmanned vehicles at some point ran into political obstacles, which made it critically important to create a completely domestic analogue of UAVs.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that as part of the import substitution work at the UZGA plant, the "Outpost-R" is being developed - a completely updated modification of the drone, which has preserved only the external contours.
