"Buttercup-N" can be mounted on a helmet or an armored shield. The station was first presented at the international forum "Army-2021"
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 24. /TASS/. The visual-optical interference station "Buttercup-N" that blinds the enemy, which can be attached to a helmet or an armored shield, is ready for trial operation. This was told to TASS at the Army-2021 forum by the general director of the Vega Concern (part of the Rostec Roselectronics holding) Vyacheslav Mikheev.
"The global trend to expand the use of non-lethal means to neutralize criminals is creating a growing demand for such developments. "Buttercup-N" has passed factory tests and is ready for trial operation by one of the potential customers. We plan that law enforcement agencies will be interested in this product, and we are ready to produce up to 20 thousand stations a year," he said.
"Lyutin-N" is presented for the first time at the international forum "Army-2021". The wearable visual-optical interference station can be used for special operations and counter-terrorism measures. The device is installed on helmets, shockproof or armored shields and at a distance of up to 100 m allows you to temporarily blind the enemy, including those armed with weapons with an optical sight.
The operation of the station is based on the modulation of the brightness of the light radiation, which creates the effect of temporary blinding. The station has a shockproof sealed housing and can be used at temperatures from -40 to +40 degrees Celsius.
"Buttercup-N" can also be used in searchlight mode to illuminate darkened areas. In this case, the station's operating time is 45 minutes.
The International military-technical Forum "Army-2021" is held in the Patriot Shopping Center from August 22 to 28.
