Russia has every opportunity to take one of the leading places in the world in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), it is necessary to ensure the security of the country, First Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Ruslan Tsalikov said on Monday.
"Today, artificial intelligence is considered by all the leading countries of the world as a means of achieving global dominance. The Russian Federation has a significant potential to become one of the international leaders in the development and use of artificial intelligence technologies," he said, speaking at a round table at the Army - 2021 forum.
According to Tsalikov, artificial intelligence is also considered as a tool for ensuring the defense and security of the state, AI technologies are used to improve the efficiency of solving the tasks of the Russian army.
He noted that the main areas of work of the Russian military and civil science in the field of AI are the creation of domestic hardware platforms, software, data banks and solving the problem of the "black box", as well as ethical and legal norms for the use of artificial intelligence.
According to the first deputy minister, the structure of the congress "Strategic Leadership in the Digital Age and Artificial Intelligence Technologies" held in Patriot Park is built in such a way as to discuss these areas and develop solutions for their further development in thematic sections.
"The interest in the congress and the level of participants in its events once again emphasizes that artificial intelligence is the main technology of the XXI century. I wish all the participants of the congress interesting and fruitful work, " Tsalikov said.
