KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 23. /TASS/. The M. V. Keldysh Research Center (part of Roscosmos) has created a line of plasma torches that can be used for incineration of solid household waste. This was announced by the general director of the enterprise Vladimir Koshlakov during the Army forum.
"At the moment, a whole line of such machines [plasma torches] has been developed," Koshlakov said, answering the question of Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin, what parameters should plasma torches have for burning the most complex solid household waste.
According to the general director of the Center Keldysh, a complex of resource tests of the devices has already been carried out.
In August 2020, Koshlakov told TASS that the M. V. Keldysh Center has developed and uses plasma torches that allow producing high-temperature gases at temperatures over 4-5 thousand degrees Celsius, which can be used for waste incineration. According to him, negotiations have already been held with the government of Nizhny Novgorod on the use of plasma torches in the region.
