INTERFAX - Russia will soon begin work on creating a new generation of combat equipment, the military has already outlined the basic requirements, said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemicals of the state corporation Rostec.
"The Russian Defense Ministry has already outlined its vision of a new equipment for the military. There is a common understanding of where to move. We are waiting for the official start of work, " Ozdoev said in an interview with Interfax at the Army 2021 forum.
He said that the cluster already has a number of developments in this area.
"For example, we are creating an interactive helmet that changes color depending on the situation. Kalashnikov has created a modern modular unloading system for special forces. There are interesting developments on the fabrics of the future and means of protection, " Ozdoev said.
As reported, the state corporation is preparing to create a third-generation combat equipment "Sotnik".
According to the general director of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, the Sotnik kit should be replaced by the Ratnik (second generation) in 2025.
