The forum is held from August 22 to 28
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 22. /TASS/. Problems related to the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on the life of mankind, including military aspects, will be discussed throughout the week of the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021". This was announced on Sunday at a conference within the framework of the forum by Natalia Kaspersky, CEO of the Info Watch Group of companies.
"The whole week will be devoted to AI, a large congress is being held within the framework of the Army Forum. Tomorrow there will be a large plenary session with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, where various aspects of the influence of AI, including on the military sphere, will be discussed," said Kaspersky, who moderates the conference.
According to her, during the congress, "questions will be raised that are related to how artificial intelligence can change the life of humanity in the future in general." "Because we see quite a lot of changes here already now," Kaspersky said, noting that the very definition of "artificial intelligence is a very difficult question."
Another participant of the conference, Tatyana Matveeva, head of the Presidential Department for the Development of information and Communication Technologies and Communication Infrastructure, believes that it is necessary to strive to ensure a balance between technological progress and its ethical boundaries. This requires a code of ethics for artificial intelligence. She is included among the participants of the congress "Strategic Leadership in the Digital Age and Artificial Intelligence Technologies", organized by the Russian Defense Ministry with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This congress is part of the scientific and business program of the Army-2021 forum.
"Probably, this congress will allow us to get closer to understanding the balance between technological progress and its socio-cultural, ethical boundaries in terms of its impact on humans within the framework of the federal AI project, which is currently actively developing and within which it is planned to create a code of ethics for AI," Matveeva said. She believes that today business, the state, science should combine their efforts and develop the right approaches that allow " technologies to actively develop, serve for the benefit of society, but at the same time do not pose a threat to a person, his autonomy, cognitive abilities." "The topic of artificial intelligence is now widely heard, it is in the top, everyone is discussing it, and here issues related to AI ethics, humanitarian and social problems are extremely important," Matveeva said.
