Moscow. August 22. INTERFAX-Work on the Russian medium-haul aircraft of the new generation MS-21 will be completed in the near future, Russian President Vladimir Putin expects.
"The next stage is MS-21. I hope that in the near future, as planned, the car will appear on the line, " he said at a meeting with representatives of the United Russia party.
At the same time, Putin drew attention to unfair competition in the global aircraft construction market from Russia's foreign partners.
"Our partners, who were supposed to supply us with certain components, and these are absolutely civilian products, behaved indecently under the pretext of various non-economic issues of a political nature. They work in our market themselves, but they create problems for us in civil aviation, " he said.
According to him, this led to a delay in the timing of the creation of the MS-21 for five to six months. "But it will come out and come out even better than planned," Putin promised.
At the same time, Putin noted that Russia has managed to resolve these issues, and he promised that this will continue in the future.
Speaking about combat aviation, he said that Russia is the "undisputed leader" in this industry, and its military aircraft are the best in the world.
The MS-21 is a medium-haul civil aircraft under development. The liner is focused on the most popular segment of the passenger transportation market. The aircraft is being created on the basis of the latest developments in the field of aircraft construction.
The MS-21 program is at the stage of certification tests and production of aircraft for the first customers.
The basic version of the aircraft with American PW1400 engines, which is currently undergoing certification tests, is called the MS-21-300. It is assumed that the customers of the aircraft will be able to choose which engine they will operate the aircraft with. It is also planned to produce versions of the MS-21-200 (from 132 to 165 seats) and MS-21-400 (up to 250 seats) in the future.
Four MS-21-300 aircraft participate in flight certification tests according to Russian and European standards. Two more aircraft are undergoing static and resource tests at TsAGI. In December 2020, flight tests of the MC-21-310 prototype aircraft, which is equipped with new Russian PD-14 engines, began.
