The protective properties are achieved thanks to the unique three-layer structure of the sole made of polyurethane foam, expanded polystyrene and polypropylene
KUBINKA /Moscow region/, August 22. /TASS/. Special protective boots for the crews of armored vehicles, which reduce the likelihood of serious leg injuries when a car is blown up by a mine, were first presented at the Army-2021 international forum.
"The developed model of protective footwear makes it possible to reduce the impact of mine detonation on the lower limbs of the crews of armored vehicles and military vehicles. According to field tests, the impact force is reduced by 8%, " Yaroslav Dolgachev, senior operator of the 4th scientific company of the technopolis ERA, told TASS on Sunday.
He explained that the protective properties are achieved thanks to the unique three-layer structure of the sole made of polyurethane foam, expanded polystyrene and polypropylene.
Protective berets are a joint development of technopolis " ERA "and the company"Faraday". The shoes also have increased gasoline, oil and fire resistance. "Fire resistance due to the sole made of polyurethane increases by 10%, oil and gasoline resistance due to impregnation increases by 5-8%, depending on the types of oils. This was found out in the laboratory of chematology of our technopolis, " Dolgachev said.
As the representative of technopolis noted, a batch of shoes is being prepared for delivery to armored units for trial operation, so that the crews can report on the shortcomings identified during direct use.
The International military-technical Forum "Army-2021" is held in the Patriot Shopping Center from August 22 to 28.
