The company ZALA Aero has started the development of the first Russian marine drone-kamikaze. This was announced on Sunday, August 22, by the head of special projects of the company Nikita Khamitov.
"Ahead of the moment of forming the customer's requirements, we have started working on the "marine" modification of the CUBE-UAV with the possibility of operation on high-speed transport and landing boats and special-purpose ships, which significantly increases their combat capabilities, "he said during the international military-technical forum"Army-2021".
It is noted that the flight speed of the drone can reach 80-130 km / h. The device will be able to barrage in the air, detecting a target, and then attack it from the upper hemisphere.
On August 12, the Ministry of Defense told about the development of a new weapon system for unmanned aerial vehicles. Russian drones, in addition to guided weapons, including long-range cruise missiles, will also receive unguided aviation weapons of destruction. It is also assumed that a family of new lightweight bombs and missiles will be developed specifically for drones to destroy targets near their troops.
On August 6, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu noted that the share of the latest weapons, military and special equipment in the troops has been brought to 70.1%, in the strategic nuclear forces — to 86%. According to him, the Russian army is modern, mobile, compact and combat — ready. Thus, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation received more than 200 units of weapons and military equipment in the first half of this year.
Earlier, on August 3, the head of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Vladimir Zarudnitsky, said that Russia is creating the latest long-range aviation hypersonic missile X-95. He also added that unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes, over-the-horizon radar stations, anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes and other latest military equipment are being developed for the Russian Aerospace Forces.
