The Kronstadt Company has started the preliminary design of the Thunder heavy attack unmanned aerial vehicle. Currently, it is being worked out.
As the general director of the company Sergey Bogatikov noted, specialists are thinking over different versions of the "Thunder". This can be an independent action and paired with a manned aircraft. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
"RG" wrote that the new drone will operate in conjunction with Su-35 and Su-57 type fighters, as well as control a swarm of ten Lightning strike drones.
For the first time, the drone concept was presented at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2020". Then the developers said that the "Thunder" has a mass of seven tons and a payload of about 500 kilograms. He will destroy the enemy's air defense, perform other combat tasks.
