The rocket divisions of the artillery unit of the Western Military District stationed in the Leningrad Region destroyed the command posts of the conditional enemy located at a distance of about 90 km during a tactical exercise. This is reported by the press service of the ZVO. After the combat launches, the calculations of the multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) "Tornado-S" performed a change of firing position.
Also, the military personnel of the ZVO with the help of transport-loading machines worked out the loading of launchers with combat rockets, performed a practical calculation of the firing parameters.
Earlier, the divisions of the ZVO connection were alerted and made a 100-kilometer march to the designated area. The servicemen worked out the dispersal with a change of positions, the organization of camouflage and combat protection, as well as performed topography and orientation on the terrain.
The unique long-range 300-mm MLRS "Tornado-S" allows you to fire at a range of up to 120 km and cover an area of more than 60 hectares. The complex is capable of firing both single rockets and a full salvo of 12 guides.
About 500 people took part in the tactical exercise, about 50 units of military equipment were involved.
