Given the pace of development of the Russian fighter of the fifth generation su-57, lightweight tactical aircraft (LTS), known as Checkmate ("checkmate") and su-75, before mass production will unlikely before 2035, says in the "Military-industrial courier" the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of rocket and artillery Sciences (raran) on information policy, doctor of military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov.
According to him, at present the concept of LTS has "very good prospects", but "there is a small hitch". "Therefore, at the current pace, this aircraft is unlikely to reach mass production before 2035. By this time, the first cars of the sixth generation, which are already being actively developed in the United States, will rise into the sky. As a result, by the time its serial production begins, the LTS in its current form will be hopelessly outdated, " the expert says.
Sivkov commented on the presentation of the Su-75, which took place at the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-21). "Such a show, which is appropriate, maybe at a Hollywood party, left me with the feeling that they are trying to sell something not very good to those present. In general, all this presentation, in my opinion, has thoroughly damaged the image of the future aircraft, " said the Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Sciences for Information Policy.
In July, Rostec presented the LTS at MAKS-21. According to the head of the state corporation Sergey Chemezov, a single-engine tactical fighter will cost from 25 to 30 million dollars. As the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yuri Slyusar noted, the aircraft shown at the salon is a sample that will fly in 2023.
