TSAMTO, August 19. The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has announced the signing of a contract with the French company Zodiac MilPro for the supply of new rigid-hulled inflatable boats designed to support amphibious operations of the Spanish ILC.
Under the terms of the contract, 13 boats will be delivered to the customer in the period from March 2022 to January 2023. The delivery package also includes trailers, static support frames for storage, combat equipment, additional spare parts and documentation, a logistics support package and training of personnel.
Basically, the boats will be used by special purpose units in operations to counter piracy and drug trafficking.
As a member of the Maritime Logistics Support Partnership (NLSP), Spain benefits from simplifying logistics and saves money by reducing costs due to an increase in the volume of purchases made through the NSPA.
Currently, NSPA is also engaged in the supply of 24 rigid-hulled inflatable boats designed for search and rescue operations and transportation of personnel of the Spanish Navy. Other recent activities include the maintenance of submarines of the Spanish Navy, the conclusion of contracts and the supply of various remotely controlled vehicles, as well as the purchase of spare parts. In addition, the Agency is currently engaged in the acquisition of a deck decompression chamber, underwater phones for submarines and side-view gas on behalf of the Spanish Navy.
