The systems of the central module of the space station are operating normally, the Department of the Manned Space Flight Program of the People's Republic of China reported
BEIJING, August 17. /TASS/. The crew members of the manned spacecraft of the People's Republic of China "Shenzhou-12", working at the Chinese orbital station, will soon go into outer space for the second time. This was announced on Tuesday by the Department of the Manned Space Flight Program of the People's Republic of China.
The crew is in good condition and is preparing for a spacewalk. The systems of the central module of the space station are operating normally, according to a statement on the agency's website.
On June 17, the Shenzhou-12 spacecraft with three cosmonauts on board successfully docked with the PRC orbital station under construction. They transported materials from the Tianzhou-2 cargo spacecraft, carried out work on the construction of the station using a robotic manipulator and a number of scientific experiments.
On July 4, the astronauts went into space for extravehicular work and spent seven hours outside the residential module.
The Chinese station has three docking nodes and a gateway for entering space. At the current stage, the station consists of three elements: the base module "Tianhe", the cargo ship "Tianzhou-2" and "Shenzhou-12". It is expected that the station will be operational in 2022 and, as promised by the Chinese authorities, will be available for international projects.
