Two pilots are in a serious condition in the hospital
Tashkent. August 16. INTERFAX - An Afghan Air Force plane that crashed in Uzbekistan was shot down while trying to illegally cross the border, two pilots are in a serious condition in hospital, the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan reported on Monday.
"On August 15, the air defense forces of the Air Force of Uzbekistan stopped an attempt to illegally cross the country's air border by an Afghan military aircraft," the Defense Ministry said.
The incident reportedly occurred in the Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region (the south of the country, bordering Afghanistan) on the evening of August 15. Two pilots of the Afghan Air Force plane survived and are in a hospital in Termez, their condition is serious.
