The general director of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, together with the head of NASA, Bill Nelson, intends to discuss the need for cross-flights of Russian cosmonauts on US ships to the International Space Station (ISS) as an exchange for flights of their American colleagues on Russian ships.
"We have our own ship with excellent statistics of successful flights… So far, I don't see the need for cross-flights, but we don't rule them out. I haven't decided yet. We will discuss this with Senator Nelson, "RIA Novosti quotes the general director of Roscosmos as saying.
Earlier, on June 15, Dmitry Rogozin spoke about plans to cooperate with NASA in the filming of the film "Challenge" in the ISS. According to him, this kind of interaction with the US department is a "huge field of opportunities" that will allow the parties to agree.
On the same day, the head of NASA, Bill Nelson, said that during telephone conversations he discussed with the general director of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, cooperation between the United States and Russia in space.
Rogozin also spoke about the agreement with Bill Nelson to hold the first face-to-face talks in the fall at one of the international conferences.
On June 11, Rogozin said that the state corporation agreed to cooperate with NASA, subject to the lifting of sanctions. In turn, the head of NASA, Bill Nelson, in an interview with Politico, said that the cooperation between the United States and Russia in space is unique and exceptional, it should not stop.
