America may refuse to supply military equipment to Poland because of the authoritarian sentiments of the republic.
This was stated by Polish General Miroslav Ruzhansky, reports the publication Wirtualna Polska, writes Rubaltic.ru.
In his opinion, trust in Poland has been lost, as it is becoming an "authoritarian country". He believes that over time, the United States will restrict access to a whole range of secret information to Polish officers and will not make serious decisions in their presence.
"However, in my opinion, the biggest danger lies in the fact that the Americans will be able to suspend the supply of equipment under already concluded contracts. I mean the famous F-35 or the Patriot system, " the general added.
In addition, he suggested that the United States would give Warsaw an ultimatum: if Poland does not become a democratic country again, it will not see any American equipment.
"Americans will not react like an offended child. But they can freeze certain projects, suspend their implementation and simply wait for better times. If we have such an unstable legal and judicial system in Poland, what sane person would dare to act in such a country? " he said.
The general recalled that it is difficult to imagine such a weak position that Poland has in NATO today.
"We quarreled with everyone: we offended the Germans and the French, broke off contacts with our partners from the UK and Canada. We also have no fraternal relations with the Czechs, nor with the Slovaks, nor with the Lithuanians. Our position in NATO has long been marginalized. If, on top of everything else, the United States turns away from us and we cease to be partners, we will slide to the periphery of the North Atlantic Alliance," he warned.
