NEW DELHI, August 12. /TASS/. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully launched the GSLV-F10 launch vehicle with the EOS-03 satellite on board on Thursday. As ISRO reported on its Twitter page, the launch took place from the space center named after Satish Dhawan on the island of Sriharikota.
"GSLV-F10 has successfully taken off [from the launch pad] of the Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota," the report says.
EOS-03 is the newest Earth observation satellite, which is planned to be put into geostationary orbit. The device will help to quickly monitor such dangerous weather events as cyclones, thunderstorms and others.
