The interlocutor of the agency said that it is not yet known how long it will take to eliminate the causes of the problem
MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. The flight of the American Starliner to the ISS was postponed due to problems with the valves of the low-thrust engines. It is not yet known how long it will take to eliminate the causes of the problem, a source in the rocket and space industry told TASS.
"The ship was removed from the launch table due to problems with the valves of several low-thrust engines. Boeing engineers are currently troubleshooting problems, " the agency interlocutor noted.
Currently, there is no preliminary deadline for when the ship will return to the launch pad. "In August, a number of more launch windows will be available if the problem is solved," the source added.
Starliner (full name: Crew Space Transportation (CST) - 100 Starliner) is an American manned reusable spacecraft. It was developed by Boeing and is designed to deliver crews to the ISS and return astronauts from near-Earth orbit.
On July 29, NASA announced the postponement of the Starliner launch scheduled for July 30 to the ISS. Then the transfer was associated with the unplanned activation of the engines of the Russian Nauka module after docking with the ISS. According to the new plans, the ship was supposed to launch on August 3, but a few hours before the launch, the company announced that they were considering postponing the launch to August 4.
Later, Boeing said that the launch of the Starliner to the ISS, scheduled for Wednesday, August 4, was postponed indefinitely due to the need for additional time to assess the readiness of the device.
