TSAMTO, August 9. A delegation of the Philippine Navy led by Rear Admiral Alberto B. Carlos conducted a visual inspection of 21 TC-12B "Huron" aircraft at the American storage base.
As reported by Mintfo.com, the joint visual inspection (JVI) was conducted from July 18 to 24 on the territory of the 309th Group of storage and recovery of aircraft equipment of the US Air Force (AMARG, a/b "Davis-Monthan", Arizona). In total, it is planned to select eight TC-12B "Huron" for long-distance purchase, restoration and shipment to the Philippines.
The purchased aircraft are designed to perform surveillance tasks, medical evacuation, as well as passenger and light cargo transportation in the Philippine Fleet.
Other details of the proposed transaction are still unknown (approx.TSAMTO: in 2020, the Argentine Air Force announced the acquisition of 10 TC-12B for a total of $ 17 million).
TC-12B "Huron"is a twin-engine turboprop training / tactical military transport aircraft developed on the basis of the Beechcraft Super King Air 200 passenger aircraft. The US Navy operated 25 TC-12BS as part of the 35th Training Squadron of the 4th Aviation Wing. The aircraft were decommissioned in May 2017 and replaced with new T-44S.
