Rostov-on-Don. August 9. INTERFAX-YUG-Specialists of all branches of the Southern Military District with the involvement of aviation and ships of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) and the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) are starting a week of large-scale battalion tactical exercises in the South of Russia, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
The stage of bilateral battalion tactical and special exercises will be held in the period from August 9 to September 15. The exercises will be held at 20 combined-arms training grounds located in the Astrakhan and Rostov regions, in the Stavropol and Kuban regions, in Adygea, Dagestan, North Ossetia, Chechnya, Crimea and at Russian military bases in Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia," the report says.
It is noted that within the framework of the exercises of motorized rifle, tank and artillery units of the Southern Military District, specialists of all branches of the armed forces will perform combat training tasks.
In addition, the forces of army, military transport, assault and tactical aviation, as well as units and formations, including ships of the Black Sea Fleet and CFL, will be involved in a single tactical plan.
The exercises will also be held with the involvement of radiation, chemical and biological protection units, engineering troops, electronic warfare, intelligence, logistics and medical support, etc.
"The commanders of companies, battalions and their equal units during the upcoming exercises should master the skills of managing the attached forces of various types of aviation - army, assault, operational and tactical," the press service quotes the words of the commander of the district troops Alexander Dvornikov.
It is specified that more than 80 aircraft and helicopters are planned to be allocated daily by the Association of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District to participate in joint combat training events.
