Moscow. August 7. INTERFAX-AVN-The Russian military has relocated several Su-30SM fighters to China for exercises that will be held from August 9 to 13 at the Qingtongxia training ground in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China.
The flight to China was made by at least four Su-30SM fighters, it follows from the video materials of the press service of the Eastern Military District (VVO).
"The crews of the Su-30SM of the Eastern Military District from the Russian military contingent in preparation for the SIBU/Interaction-2021 exercise took part in a joint flight training with the performance of combat training tasks with the crews of fighter aircraft of the People's Liberation Army Air Force of China, "the Air Force said in a statement.
According to the district, during the training, the crews of Russian fighters took off in pairs and performed a number of combat training tasks-air strikes on conditional ground targets with high - explosive fragmentation bombs, timely withdrawal from the "enemy"air defense systems.
"At the same time, the entire complex of tasks was performed by Russian pilots together with the crews of Chinese Jian-11 and Jian-7 fighters, which operated as part of an aviation squadron, "the press service of the district reported.
According to the VVO, about 13 thousand military personnel and almost 500 units of weapons and equipment will take part in the Russian-Chinese exercise "Sibu/Interaction-2021".
The VVO reported that Russia sent military personnel of the operational-tactical aviation detachment, personnel of a motorized rifle unit from the Trans-Baikal Territory, and its management apparatus to the exercise. China will be represented by the ground forces and the Air Force at the exercise.
The Su-30SM (serial upgraded) is a multi-purpose fighter of the "4+" generation, developed by the Sukhoi company, serially produced at the Irkutsk Aircraft Factory of the Irkut Corporation.
The aircraft is equipped with a radar with a phased array antenna, engines with a controlled thrust vector and a front horizontal tail. The fighter is capable of using modern and promising high-precision weapons of the air-to-air and air-to-surface classes. The fighter is designed to gain air supremacy, block enemy airfields at great depth, destroy air, land and sea targets, including at night and difficult meteorological conditions.
