Military railway workers during the reconstruction of the Baikal-Amur mainline must hand over 19 objects in 3.5 years. This was announced by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
According to him, 19 objects are planned to be commissioned on the Ulak - Fevralsk section in three and a half years. "Two should be handed over next year, 12 - in 2023 and five - in 2024," Shoigu said.
The Minister noted that since last week, the Railway Troops have been reconstructing the BAM on the Ulak - Fevralsk section with a total length of 340 km. This was done in accordance with the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Shoigu said that this particular segment is of crucial importance for the country's economy as a whole, since the use of the entire potential of the north-eastern branch will increase the transport capabilities of Eastern Siberia. The section under construction will increase the capacity of the highway and the volume of transit traffic, in addition, Russia will be able to expand access to the markets of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the minister, military railway workers must perform a large front of work, the most comfortable conditions for their living and work have been created.
So, throughout the entire site, the Ministry of Defense quickly erected modern block-modular towns. About 700 units of automotive, engineering and special equipment were involved in their construction.
Shoigu said that now students of military training centers are being trained at the reconstruction of the BAM, who are trained in the military accounting specialties of the Railway Troops. They should consolidate their knowledge in practice and gain invaluable experience that will be useful to them in the future.
